MMPI-2 Longitudinal Study

This is the core protocol for our lab’s research projects. In order to participate in any of our other research studies, one must first complete this session. During the session, individuals are asked to answer a large personality questionnaire (MMPI-2), provide biographical information, and produce a small amount of saliva for genetic analyses. A session lasts approximately 2 hours.

Personality and Stress Response

During this study, saliva is collected on two occasions, once before and once after a scary movie. Participants also complete a brief questionnaire about activities that may affect the results of the salivary analyses. A session lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Recreational Habits and Risk Taking Preferences

During this study, individuals are asked to take part in a computer-based gambling task, and each person will be interviewed by a research assistant about various activities and habits. Each participant is also asked to provide a small amount of saliva for analysis. A session lasts approximately 1 hour.

Multi-model Personality Assessment

For this study, individuals are asked to complete various measures of personality, behaviors, and emotions during two sessions, one week apart from each other. During each session, participants will also be asked for three different saliva samples for analysis. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours, and with 2 sessions, the total time commitment is 4 hours.

Genetics, Memory, and Personality

During this study, individuals are administered various measures of memory and cognitive abilities. A session lasts approximately 2 hours.

Effects of Personality on Aspects of Psychotherapy

During this study, individuals are asked to watch scenes depicting activities from a therapy session and to provide responses to several questions for each of the scenes. Participants are also asked to complete a personality questionnaire. A session lasts approximately 2 hours.
